The 433 meter structure features a 126 meter central span that rises to 53 meters in 11 minutes to allow ships to enter. The bridge demonstrates First Options construction’s foundation, mechanical, marine and civil engineering competence.
The city chose to build a lift bridge to connect the historic center of Bordeaux on the left bank of the river with the business and residential neighborhoods on the right bank without preventing cruise ships from reaching the Port de la Lune dock.
